Why subscribe?

The Pew Note is for lay Episcopalians, and curious people, who take their faith seriously and want a place to think about it honestly. No jargon, no talking down, no pretending the church is something it isn’t. Just good theology, real questions, and the kind of conversation you wish happened more often after the service.

I’m Marsha McCurdy, a lay leader, a parishioner at Trinity, Hartford, and a retired Deputy Fire Marshal with nearly 25 years of service. I came to this work through the pew, not the pulpit. That matters.

Most church writing is for clergy, or about clergy. This isn’t. It’s for the person who keeps showing up, who takes communion seriously, who has a sense of call they haven’t quite named yet. For the vestry member doing her best. The lector who’s been reading for twenty years. The one who isn’t sure what they believe but goes anyway.
